Mission Statement
To achieve 100% sustainable food for all by creating decentralized, peer to peer food economy.
We want to lead the world by creating a new culture that embraces sustainable food and restores and enhances the ecosystem. In order to prevent the collapse of this planet, we elevate sustainable food to a mainstream culture so 100% of our food on the plate is produced, distributed, consumed, and waste managed, sustainably.
Starting in the US, our plan is to blur the line between producer and consumer, and network each farm with the information technology to create a truly sustainable, decentralized, peer to peer food system.
Teruhisa Uchiyama
During 7 years in the music industry as an Audio Engineer, Teruhisa discovered Synecoculture farming. In 2016, Teruhisa and Christopher started the experimental farm based on biodiversity in San Diego, CA. This experience led him to change his career and he started training as a chef in New York City to learn first hand about the state of sustainability in the food industry. A former chef/fish butcher/culinary instructor at the Japanese style fish-market in Brooklyn called 'Osakana', Teruhisa is a co-founder of SUSTAINABLEFOOD.US and currently promoting a new restaurant concept, 'Table to Farm', which he developed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Christopher Cancelliere
During his 9 years serving in the United States Navy Band, Christopher was given the opportunity to travel to many unique places and experience different cultures across the globe. His most rich experiences always included traditional meals, sourced and prepared locally, and he spent hours traveling through and learning about all types of agriculture in some of the world’s most remote places. After leaving the Navy in 2013, he went to work in a Brooklyn recording studio alongside Teruhisa. Passing the time during long sessions Teruhisa and Christopher discussed dreams of working to end world hunger and have since teamed up to co-found SUSTAINABLEFOOD.US. Christopher currently tends to and enjoys the fruits from the first Synecoculture Micro-Farm Experiment in the United States.
